Hi there, and welcome to Ahnaowah.

I’m Tungshing R Shimray, a storyteller and curious soul from Manipur. This little corner of the web is where I share stories, reflections, and the cultural roots that continue to shape who I am.

Growing up amidst the hills, cultures, and oral traditions of Northeast India, I developed a deep appreciation for storytelling and heritage. The songs, folktales, and memories passed down through generations inspired me to learn more about the people, histories, and traditions that give meaning to our identity.

I am deeply interested in discovering and preserving ancestral stories, folktales, traditions, historical facts, and forgotten places, especially those connected to my homeland, Somdal village. I believe every community carries wisdom within its stories, and preserving them is a way of keeping our heritage alive for future generations.

Through Ahnaowah, I hope to document the beauty, history, and spirit of Northeast India while creating a space where culture, memory, and storytelling can continue to live on. Here, you will find folktales, personal reflections, and stories inspired by the people and places that continue to inspire me.
